Chapter 820 - Sparring and Assassination Attempt
Chapter 820 - Sparring and Assassination Attempt
V studied his palm. “This sensation is extraordinary...”
As the mechanical arm moved, the metal shifted like flowing water, reshaping itself according to his will. Gatling, cannon, flamethrower, long blade, and great sword appeared and disappeared one after another, cold steel and firearms cycling back and forth with just a thought. Even with his hand in weapon form, V could still feel temperature and tactile senses, as if the metal of his body were flesh and blood.
After several failed attempts to read V’s information, Han Wu gave up and decided instead to test V’s strength through direct combat.
The two moved to the Imperial College’s training arena, where Han Wu specifically selected the strongest and most durable training ground the college had. Once they were transported inside, they both released their power.
Han Wu went straight to his strongest form, the True Black Dragon King Transformation. A 10,000-meter-tall Black Dragon King appeared, emanating overwhelming darkness and power.
V transformed in response. In an instant, his frame grew to 1000 meters, with countless cannon barrels emerging all across his body. The barrels immediately started to charge up with energy.
When Han Wu saw the dense array of barrels, his heart went cold. These were powerful laser cannons, and their combined firepower was terrifying. If he took a direct hit without using Conversion, he would lose at least a layer of dragon scales, even with his True Black Dragon King Transformation.
Wanting to test V’s capabilities, Han Wu moved to dodge. Every barrel on V’s body swung to track him.
“Dynamic Capture System ready!” V called out.
Over a hundred laser beams fired at once, and every single one found its mark. Despite being 10,000 meters tall, Han Wu moved at extreme speeds that made it difficult for regular cannons to aim at him. V, however, landed every shot. Han Wu was baffled.
Nevertheless, the laser cannons were useless against him. Conversion absorbed all of the energy and transformed it into Dark Energy, which he shaped into an enormous hand and slammed down toward V.
The latter analyzed the situation before generating new commands. “Energy cannons confirmed ineffective. Switching combat mode: close-range engagement. High-Speed Thrusters ready. Activating!”
As the giant hand forged from Dark Energy slammed down, darkness corroded everything within a fifty-kilometer radius. The impact of the attack left a massive crater in its wake, but V was not in it.
Several thrusters blazed at his back, launching him forward at high speed directly into Han Wu. Both his hands morphed, one into a long blade and the other a great sword, which he then used to unleash a flurry of slashes.
Han Wu’s True Black Dragon King scales were extremely durable, and ordinary blades struggled to break through them. V’s weapons experienced similar difficulties piercing the scales at first, but V adapted quickly.
Upon realizing that his blades could not injure Han Wu, he immediately searched his memory for weapon-forging methods and started manufacturing a Divine Weapon on the spot.
Smelting, tempering, refining, and finally, a low-temperature quenching to shape the final form. In moments, an exceptionally sturdy Divine Weapon appeared in V’s hand, and one of Han Wu’s scales shattered with V’s next attack.
This new combat data allowed V to further improve his approach. A superior Divine Weapon formed in his hand. This time, when the blow landed, it didn’t just crack the scales; it opened a bloody wound.
Han Wu had taken a wound while in Black Dragon King form! The wound closed at a visible rate under the effect of Undying, but the shock it left was noticeable.
V’s attacks kept coming. Each new exchange fed him more data. Another Divine Weapon was already forming while he analyzed Han Wu’s combat patterns and calculated which angle of attack would deal the most damage. Every thought during combat was spoken aloud as if they were notifications of system commands.
As Han Wu listened to V deconstructing how to destroy him, a pang of nervousness struck him. Sparring with V was equivalent to feeding him an enormous amount of data about his fighting style. V would use that data to eventually develop the perfect counter to defeat him. The longer the fight continued, the worse his odds became.
Cold sweat ran down Han Wu’s back. V was a hundred times more frightening in this form than the Machine God had ever been. V’s strength had only just crossed into the World rank, but given some time and enough data, he would likely be able to cut down foes on the Microcosm rank with ease. It was possible he could even hold his own against Subcosm rank opponents without falling behind.
The only solution Han Wu could think of was to use his most powerful strike to end things before V gathered any more data. As the two finished their analyses and prepared to resume fighting, V suddenly turned to attack the empty air.
Han Wu frowned. What’s going on?
On second glance, he saw a figure emerge from the explosions. The person’s presence was almost nonexistent, their aura no stronger than still air. It made them seem nearly invisible. Even Han Wu, with his powerful perception, had not noticed how close the intruder had gotten.
“What’re you...? How did you detect me?” the figure asked in shock.
V meticulously started recording everything it could about the intruder. Meanwhile, Han Wu raised his guard and carefully observed the figure.
“This assassination really is difficult.” The person sighed, eyes cold as they fixed on Han Wu. “He truly is worth 30 million Divine Essence.”
Han Wu was quite conspicuous at 10,000 meters tall. From the intruder’s perspective, he was as good as a stationary target.
“I’ll finish the assignment before dealing with this freak!” the figure cried before vanishing from Han Wu’s sight again.
Han Wu cleared his mind and tried to perceive his surroundings carefully, but he still couldn’t locate the person.
At that same time, V used the gathered data to run a full scan and finally detected them at Han Wu’s neck. Moving quickly, he intercepted the lethal strike, saving Han Wu’s life.
The seriousness of the situation finally dawned on Han Wu. He hastily reverted to his normal form and activated his Pressure Ring. Caught under that heavy pressure, the figure could no longer conceal themself. Han Wu and V both unleashed powerful attacks to kill the assassin on the spot.
Han Wu made sure to seize the Divine Jurisdiction and Divine Authority that dropped upon the intruder’s death. He was stunned to find that the assassin was a genuine God King with the Concealment Jurisdiction.
No wonder Han Wu hadn’t been able to sense them at all. He hadn’t even known that a Divine Jurisdiction dedicated to concealment existed.
But how did V manage to locate them so accurately every time?
Han Wu decided to ask V.
